Lazorne Group a well established company, commenced operations in March 20002 and was previously known as Compliance Consulting Pty Ltd. The company changed its name as it expanded its operations and now trades as Lazorne Group Pty Limited.
The Principals
Deborah began her career in the financial industry in 1979 with Ernst & Young. She was employed by the Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE) in the period 1983 until 2000 and in her role as General Manager, Compliance & Surveillance was instrumental in establishing, developing, administering and managing the compliance and surveillance functions of the SFE, and its subsidiary, the NZFOE.
Since 2000, Deborah has provided independent compliance consulting advice to futures exchanges, securities exchanges and financial service providers offering a broad range of financial products.
Deborah holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Finance and Systems from the University of New South Wales and was (until 2006) a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Larry began his career in 1988, entering the financial markets in 1997. He has undertaken general management activities and performed compliance roles in a retail broking firm operating across margin foreign exchange, equities and futures products.
He has a practical background, coupled with IT, front and back office and compliance experience. He also had responsibilities for nurturing a strong and healthy relationship with the regulators across a diverse range of financial products.
He holds a Bachelor of Economics in Accounting, Finance and Business Law from Macquarie University.
Senior Management
Cherrine is a solicitor who was admitted to practice in June 2000. She has over 6 years experience working at top-tier law firm, Mallesons Stephen Jaques. During her time at Mallesons, Cherrine specialised in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and financial services. Cherrine’s clients included some of Australia’s major corporations and international companies.
Cherrine has considerable experience negotiating and documenting local and international corporate transactions including company acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings and providing strategic advice to company Boards on the conduct of meetings, directors’ duties and directors’ indemnities. Cherrine has also assisted clients with a number of issues arising from the financial services reform changes to the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), including assisting clients with Australian Market Licence applications.
Cherrine holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
Sean started as a trainee accountant in, what was at the time, one of the big four chartered accounting firms. He chose to leave accounting and to pursue a career as the assistant to the Managing Director of Sleep Disorder Centres Australia Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Medical Gases Australia Pty Ltd. Sleep Disorder Centres Australia established the first privately owned sleep centres in Australia specialising in the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea. After the sale of the business, Sean became involved in several private business ventures.
Sean has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance), University of New South Wales and a Graduate Certificate in Urban Estate Management (property development), University of Technology, Sydney.
David started his accounting career in 1984 and spent 12 years developing practical accounting, audit, financial reporting and tax skills in professional chartered practice. His most recent role in chartered practice was a Manager of a small chartered accounting practice. David has also worked in a number of management accounting and financial accounting environment firms in Sydney. In 1997 David began contracting in the commercial environment where he was employed in a number of financial and management accounting roles.
In 2000 David travelled to Edinburgh to live and work where he began working with investment banks. David was engaged by Deutsche Bank in 2001 to manage a Valuation and Pricing team. In 2003 he joined Mellon Bank and for the next two years led various teams responsible for Retail Accounting, Fund Accounting and Pricing.
David holds a Degree in Financial Administration from the University of New England and was until 1996 a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
